Improving Reading Comprehension on Descriptive Text Through STAD for the First Year Students

The purposes of this research tries to know :1) How is the process teaching Descriptive Text through STAD method for first year junior high students, 2) can improve reading comprehension on students. results show that an effective teach reading. This made students was more active in following and learning with could understand material. After researchers applied SQ5R technique gave post test, it found mean score increased from 67.18% 75 %. It be concluded hypothesis accepted, or other words students’ English achievement text.
